Livestock in Quezon City where good friends and Crispy Pata meet!

livestock7

Livestock, the so-called "Pork Heaven" is a must visit when you dine-in at Quezon City, why Pork Heaven?  Well, this is home to their famous Crispy Pata, so crisp and tender, you can literally cut it open with a Popsicle stick!

I'm serious, at first I was skeptical and thought it was just for decoration purposes and when the action started going, I find myself in awe and excitement as I smell the aroma and hear the crisp skin crack with every slice, join me in this food discovery, and maybe you'll find yourself dining at this Pork wonderland really soon!

So what's up with Hot-Star that has gotten me so hyped!  Well, I guess we can start with my love for Taiwan, their lovely weather, wonderful tourist destinations and of course a haven of great food!  From Taiwan Beef noodles, XiMending's famous "Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle 阿宗麵線" and Hot Star Large Fried Chicken (豪大大雞排), these are all part of my must-eats everytime I visit Taiwan.

Other than in Taiwan, Hot Star Large Fried Chicken has opened shop as well in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and even Melbourne, so glad they're finally here in the Philippines.

Ginza Bairin in Glorietta 2 Makati - the best Katsu in town

ginza12
Ginza Bairin, the best Katsu in town
is now open in Glorietta 2

Enough has been said about who indeed is the best Katsu in town, but words are just mere instruments and only our sense of taste can finally say, they indeed are the best.  The Katsu craze is now upon us as the Ramen race is still transpiring, to most of us they are just fried meat with breading and crumbs, but what we don't know is the skill and expertise one has to muster to get that perfect Katsu, thus enter Ginza Bairin.

ginza7

In 1927 from humble beginnings, the first ever pork cutlet store in Ginza district, made its way to the hearts of the locals, and up to now has opened stores in Hawaii, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, China and finally it has found its home in Philippines, Ginza Bairan in Glorietta 2, Makati.

King Chef Seafood restaurant celebrates their first year in Lucky Chinatown!

king14
King Chef Seafood Restaurant turns 1
at Lucky Chinatown!

King Chef Seafood restaurant, one of the most sought after Chinese restaurants in the metro today, recently turned 1 year old.  And they are celebrating it with a bang!

Probably one of the best success stories in the world of Chinese fine-dining restaurants in the Philippines, King Chef started just a few years back, when they first opened "Cantonese Soup Kitchen" serving up classic Chinese dishes in Banawe, Quezon City.  Now they have blossomed to another much bigger site in Quezon City and now in Lucky Chinatown in the heart of Chinatown in Manila.

I am proud to be celebrating with King Chef their 1st year in Lucky Chinatown.  Now if you have not heard about King Chef, then I suggest you take a look and see what they have to offer your taste buds.  And still if you're not convinced, they you indeed are missing a lot!

Breakfast greats at Cafe 1771

chatteau3

Loving breakfast at Cafe 1771

Wake up to a renewed old habit, breakfast.  This is a term I rarely use, admittedly I'm one of those poor souls with the habit of skipping the most important meal of the day, breakfast.  But now with what I have discovered with Cafe 1771, I guess you'll be seeing more of me on breakfast chit chats, now I'm truly excited.

A table set with Bread Basket (P250), which has Zucchini bread, banana bread, foccacia and scones will set the mood to a heavier breakfast treat.

Weekend Family Buffet at Eastwood Cafe at the Richmonde Hotel

east7
Family Weekend buffet feast at Eastwood Cafe

Weekends are best spent with families, I would think most of us would agree on this.  With our very busy working schedules, we only see our family early in the morning before we go to work or late at night when the kids are ready to sleep, that is indeed the harsh reality of our lives at the moment.

Such are my moments with Dad, like right now when I'm missing him again.  I remember that it was only during weekends that we were to get together for a lunch or dinner with whole family.  Now that my mom is my only parent still around, I make sure to make time for her, especially on weekends.

Italiano Perfecto y Cantina Sicilianita at Rex Bookstore

rex9

I say what?  Rex Bookstore?  Yes, you read that right.  It might come as a surprise to you guys that there is indeed an Italian place inside Rex Bookstore, "Cantina Sicilinanita" is what its called and they serve great tasting pasta creations and more.

At first I thought it was a joke that my friends were pulling on me, telling me "Hey let's have lunch at Rex Bookstore", I said what?  Are we having books to eat for lunch, if that is the case you can go ahead and I'll just skip lunch, haha as if that's happening.

So my curious feet still followed and there right in front of me "REX Bookstore".
