I love Yummy Eats!

Every year, foodies all over the metro and the rest of the country as well, come to one roof to celebrate the life as it should be.  Living a life filled with fun, flavor and of course food!  This year, Yummy Eats, the country's greatest food gathering, featuring tons of new flavors and a selection of fine treats, handpicked into the line up by no other than Yummy magazine, the country's no. 1 food magazine.  Get to taste bits and bites of delicious treats as they take you to a journey of the best treats in town.

Pictures speak louder than words, as these pictures speak for themselves.  It was already late in the evening that I was able to visit Yummy Eats, but by golly there was still so much food to take in.

Featured in this year's Yummy Eats is J. Co donuts and coffee, the country's newest donut sensation, now open at SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia.  Mochiko, Butterfly desserts, Homemade treasures, and Pinkerton ice cream were some of my favorites.

Adding flavor to the already enticing food treats, here are some that caught my fancy, not because of how they presented it, but just how good tasting they really are.  Wabi Sabi, the healthy veggie crackling, QQ mochi buns and Choclery Artisan chocolates definitely had my sweet tooth, and my favorite lechon, Pepita's Lechon.

It was great to see good foodie friends and chefs such as Bruce Lim and Angelo Comsti, gracing such foodie feasts.  But for me the winners of the night were the ones I bought some to take home.  Kate Bakes, my wife loves 'em so and Crunchy Belly, a sinful yet delicious treat.

Also at Yummy Eats were the favorites of all time such as Serenitea, Goodies and Sweets and Chuck's Grub.  Thank you Yummy Eats for gastronomic experience like no other.  Can't wait for Yummy Eats 2013.  See you then!

March is Yummy's Anniversary month!

Happy 5th Anniversary YUMMY magazine! Yes, it's just been 5 years, yet it feels like an eternity.  YUMMY says Hi this March with a fresh new look of YUMMY Magazine. With the introduction of new sections and columns, YUMMY puts the final touches on its makeover as the pages in the fifth anniversary special are revitalized and injected with a more energetic vibe to better enhance your reading and cooking experience.

“It’s a new look, yes, but you’ll also see that we’ve upheld the YUMMY approach that has been appealing to you all these years. The recipes are still easy and friendly, the tips plentiful, and the ideas creative and inspiring,” says YUMMY editor-in-chief Becky Kho in her editor’s note.

Quite interesting on this issue is YUMMY's annual food business features, where success stories of Filipino cooks and entrepreneurs have found their way to success with hard work and passion for their chosen field.  These food entrepreneurs are indeed making a name for themselves and soon they will be a household name, we can all be proud of.

Find out here on this month's issue on food entrepreneurs Katrina Ponce-Enrile of Delimondo, Mary Grace Dimacali of Café Mary Grace, and Peter Chen and Juliet Herrera of Serenitea on how they have made that big leap to entrepreneurship. Be inspired by their success stories and learn how you can turn your own fascination with food into a business.

Plus, YUMMY gives you a primer on bottling, which covers preparing containers for long-term preserving and proper canning techniques. Learn also how you can make your own spreads, jams, and condiments, all in this month’s issue.

A Yummy cooking event - Asian delights

YUMMY magazine holds Asian-inspired cooking demo

Do you love Asian food?  Who doesn't right?  With so much flavors and so much variety, you would be amazed that if you tried to have a dish a day for 365 days, it would take you at least 10 years or more to have it all done. By then, there would be new dishes lined up for you to taste again.  It is a never ending journey of culinary delights!

But in this day and age with all the rising gas prices and rising cost of living, only a handful could really afford to dine at restaurants everyday, and of course it's not considered healthy.
YUMMY magazine has made it its mission to provide readers with easy meals every day, featuring recipes that are quick to prepare with ingredients readily available in local supermarkets.

Just recently at the Robinsons Galleria Supermarket, YUMMY and Knorr showed readers how to prepare easy Asian dishes in a cooking demo led by chefs Tristan Encarnacion and Angelo Comsti.
Hosted by deejay Ingrid Nieto of Mellow 94.7, the YUMMY Cooking Demo featured four special recipes from Knorr prepared by Encarnacion, and two recipes from the August issue of YUMMY –an Asian Dishes Special—prepared by Comsti.
