Singapore in Manila at Boon Tong Kee

Boon Tong Kee, bringing the best of Singapore to Manila

Singapore is known for their diverse food selections, that has made Singapore a melting pot of great flavors.  People from all walks of life enjoy bits and pieces of Singapore flair, even though I have not been to Singapore (can you believe this? I can't believe it myself), I'm so glad, one restaurant has made it here in the Philippines, and makes me feel a little closer to Singapore with every bite.

Let's take a bite at Boon Tong Kee...

Boon Tong Kee started out just a small store in Singapore's Chinatown in 1979 and has blossomed to 7 branches in Singapore, opened in Indonesia, Thailand and now the Philippines.

Start off with unbelievably delectable appetizers, from Crispy Beancurd with cream wasabi dip, Prawn toast (a must-try!) and some fresh and crisp salad veggies.  This will surely kick start your meal and liven up your appetite.

Braised Pork Belly with steamed buns

These braised pork bellies are a must order, the scent of the slow cooked pork belly, coupled with herbs and spices, blended with soy rich sauce, cut them up and squeeze them up freshly steamed buns, makes a perfect Chinese sandwich, but this is so much better.  Known by most of us as "Hong Ba" is definitely a great addition to the already vast menu of Boon Tong Kee.

Poached Chinese Spinach with 3 kinds egg

For the veggie loving people, this dish topped with dillis (dried small fish), will surely bring smiles to every bite, not just a good source of vitamins and nutrition, it also packs a punch with protein rich eggs to match

Before we proceed, do you know what these 3 sauces are for?  That's Chili Sauce, Thick soy sauce and garlic sauce.  And when you see these it must be Singapore's most loved recipe, Boon Tong Kee's signature recipe...

Presenting Boon Tong Kee's Signature Boiled Chicken

I may not have tasted Boon Tong Kee in Singapore, but I believe this is the best rendition of Singapore's famous Chicken rice, which is being served at most of Singapore's local restaurants.  Can't wait to visit Boon Tong Kee in Singapore.

Crispy Cereal Prawn

Another dish that I'm glad is also here is Crispy Cereal Prawns, they have been a great hit and a favorite of many of my friends, so glad we don't have to go Singapore if somehow we get to crave for Cereal Prawns, just go to Boon Tong Kee and let your tummy take in the pleasure.

Coffee Pork Ribs

Coffee infused pork ribs, amazing piece of work, first they started with coffee buns, now they have Coffee Pork Ribs, just imagine how much Singaporeans love their coffee.  I'm sure Filipinos will love Coffee Pork Ribs as much as they love their daily coffee habit.

Sambal Fried Rice

Spice and everything nice, a variety of the best ingredients into one bowl of fried rice.  There is never enough rice when Sambal Fried Rice graces the dining table.

Cream Cheese Prawn with crisp fried buns

Prawns, Good... Cheese, Good.. Crisp Fried Buns..perfect!
I can munch on these babies everyday!  Just as long as my cholesterol levels stay low haha!  If you do get bored of your cereal prawns, try this, you'd be amazed how you can forget counting your cholesterol levels once the rich cream cheese touches your lips.

Crispy Roast Chicken

Looks good, tastes even better.  Crisp skin with soyed chicken meat, Boon Tong Kee indeed makes one of the best Crispy Roast Chicken in the metro today.

Birthday Noodles

I have not seen a birthday noodle serving so full of ingredients, it's like the noodles are the side dish and the many combination of meats and veggies is the main dish, fascinating indeed.

boon3

Mango Taho

A sweet ending to a very fulfilling meal, I'll have 2 cups please.
