Hanamaruken Ramen from Osaka is here in Manila
Opens Today!

Yes, I know!  Not another ramen house, you visit here then you go there, suddenly it's ramen everywhere.  The ramen craze is getting the better of us, and I'm glad to say that our dependency on rice as a staple for meals is slowly shifting to...guess what Ramen.  Not ramen in particular but the whole noodle pack in general.  So let's cut to the chase, what does Hanamaruken Ramen have to offer us that is different from the ramen places in town?  Read on to find out.

Hanamaruken ramen hails from Osaka, where they are also a subsidiary of the Arakawa Pork Company, and is one of the best suppliers of high quality meat in Japan.  Having the best resources, the best environment and the best meat in town, comes forth the birth of Hanamaruken, where their meat toppings are to die for.

With over 40 branches in Osaka, it has had a steady following of loyal customers, that line up for hours just to have a bowl of Hanamaruken ramen.  Well, you need not go to Osaka anymore to taste Hanamaruken's ramen for they have opened their first branch here in the Philippines.

So what's to order?  Of course their Signature Hanamaruken Ramen.

Happiness Signature Ramen, nice name right?  Why Happiness?  Well it has got all the right ingredients, from the tasty and firm ramen, the shoyu tonkotsu broth soup and of course the slow-cooked pork rib slab they are famous for.

What is the verdict?  You just got to have to try this and say that indeed, this is one of the best.  The slow-cooked pork ribs left me speechless for a minute, with it's soft and tender meat, you'd know that it was indeed cooked for a long time.  A bite of the flavor-rich pork rib, I restrained myself from devouring the whole slab that was upon me, thinking and hoping that my experience with the Happiness signature ramen would last a little longer.

The pork rib had a deep scent of pork, which brought out the flavors and blended well with the tonkotsu shoyu broth, making every single sip of the hot soup an experience to behold.  Unlike other ramen houses that offer bits and slices of ramen toppings, Hanamaruken gives you the whole slab of pork rib, so they are literally in a class of their own, you have never tasted ramen like this.

But as all good things must come to an end, my serving of the Happiness ramen was gone, but good news is I can get to order another one.

But wait, for some of you who already enjoyed their Happiness Ramen, but wanted something with rice on it, then I would suggest ordering their pork ribs rice bowl, which by far is one of the most moist piece of meat you can enjoy with rice, these fall off the bones pork ribs is just the perfect mix of sweet and saltiness, that if Hanamaruken was not a ramen place, this would definitely take the center stage.

A chopping knife as the door handle?  Haha be careful, but fear not, it's of course not sharpened.  The exterior and interior of the store looks cozy, sitting a capacity of around 50 persons, with bright lights and some cool imagery of how Hanamaruken came about in Osaka.  Enjoy the fancy interiors and enjoy great ramen.

Have a taste of Osaka's Hanamaruken here in Manila, enjoy the slow-cooked pork ribs and maybe you'll end up just like me... speechless.  For more info visit Hanamaruken Philippines Facebook page.
