Yurakuen : Manila Diamond Hotel's Teppanyaki Gem
In Manila, only quite a few places in the metro serve fresh cooked Teppanyaki treats and the best is found here at Manila Diamond Hotel's Yurakuen.
Teppanyaki (鉄板焼き teppan-yaki ) is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan (鉄板), which means iron plate, and yaki (焼き), which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. In Japan, teppanyaki refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate, including steak, shrimp, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki.
Modern teppanyaki grills are typically propane-heated flat surface grills, and are widely used to cook food in front of guests at restaurants.
Upon setting foot at Yurakuen, you feel like you have been transported to Tokyo, with all the Japanese designs, architecture and of course servers in full Japanese Kimono costume, seems like we are indeed in for a Japanese treat!

Now you may ask is it worth the spend? I say YES!! Just look at what the Eat-all-you-can Teppanyaki buffet has to offer:

Your post made me hungry ;) I love seafood.. hope to try those spine lobster soon........and nice deal, u get the bargain + perfect service!
ReplyDeleteWe tried this place for our anniversary and it was amazing. First off, I'll mention if you do go, be sure to get a reservation if you want to sit at one of the tables with the grill. We walked in and there weren't any available. However, the dining area is really nice and at the time we went, it was quiet and felt intimate. Our initial disappointment with not getting one of the grill tables was quickly forgotten when the food started to arrive. They still let us order off the same all you can eat menu, and everything that came out we liked.
ReplyDeleteThe winners for the day were the lamb (this is a MUST try and the best I've ever had), grouper, scallops, tenderloin and mixed fried rice. I really liked their tuna sushi as well. To be clear, it was all good, these were just the big winners for us. All of the dipping sauces were great too and went well with the seafood, meats and vegetables.
It is a bit pricey, but it was our anniversary so that's ok. The food was worth every bite though and this is the one time I felt like I didn't have to stuff myself sick to get my money's worth at an all you can eat place.
Also I had mentioned that it was our anniversary, and they brought out a little chocolate cake on a plate that had Happy Anniversary written on it in icing with our dessert. It was a nice personal touch.
The waiting staff was great too! All around this place is 5/5 stars easy.
Late reply.. haha glad you had a fun time dining! I'd love to come back again soon and again and again soon!
