We have made our reservation since last Thursday, since our family is a big group.  News travel fast and indeed this fairly new buffet place definitely is making waves.  Now what is in store for you in Vikings? Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao now in the Philippines

There was a new buzz in the Chinese community here about some new restaurant that opened recently in Greenhills at V-Mall (formerly VirraMall).  It was quite intriguing, and news broke out that it was having long lines before you could have a seat at the establishment.  Thus, I went to find out what was causing this commotion.
Alas, it was Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao.  Believe me when I say, you have to be early to come here to reserve on weekends as the lines can become very long.  We came at around 5:45 PM, and waited for almost an hour before we got in.  Crystal Jade has branches all over Asia, more prominent in Hong Kong , Singapore and China.  It has build up its name as one of the best restaurants in Asia, garnering numerous awards that has made it a household name in several Asian countries.

They flew in chefs to maintain quality assureness as they provide in the other Asian countries, here you can see them making their famous Xiao Long Bao, they make them fresh.
and their La Mian (hand-pulled noodles)
It's amazing how fast they can make this... and so perfect!
 First up, appetizer Deep Fried Wanton - P 170 / 6 pcs
crispy wanton and juicy meat inside, perfect with sweet and sour sauce
 Yang Chow fried rice - P 248
I was not happy with this serving as it was very small, they should have an
option for a bigger size.  Nothing out of the ordinary.
One of the highlights of our dinner... I was expecting this to be great
Steamed Xiao Long Bao - P 158/ 5 pcs.
true to their claims, it was very soupy so you have to use your Chinese
spoon and chopsticks for these, or you will spill the juice.
It was delicious... I have eaten quite a few local versions of Xiao Long Bao
and I must say this is one of the best I have tasted
 Braised Eggplant with pork - P 288
my dad liked it!! - you know my dad (hard to please)
Sauteed string beans and minced pork with olives - P 248
It was perfectly done, tastes great, crisp and fresh
 Spicy Beef noodles - P288
the la mian (hand-pulled noodles) was so good, they were very firm
and just right to the bite, I would definitely order this again.
and for desert Radish Pastry - P 98.00/ 3 pcs.
it was very tasty and hot!!! (newly cooked)

Overall, my experience there was very fulfilling though you must expect since this is still a new establishment, and people are curious, there will be long lines, unless you were the first customer.  I feel that the prices of the food here is a little on the expensive side. Almost all servings are only good for 2, so you have to order additional orders, that is why it can be a little pricey.  So if you want to try the best of Asia without taking a ride to HK, this is the next best thing.  Would I dine here again?  Maybe, if the lines are not long anymore.

**tip: dine in during weekdays, and best is that you can reserve a table for a group of 8 and up from Mon - Thurs, during weekends though you would have to reserve in person. They closed at around 9PM, kinda early for me.  So when they reach a certain no. of waiting guests they won't accept you anymore.

Price Range - P 300 - 500

More than fish at Fish & Co.

****Best Fish & Chips in Town****

We were recently invited by  Fish & Co. and Mr. Carlo to partake in a fabulous meal for the senses.  Great sights, great smells, great food.  I have rarely eaten at Fish & Co., not because I don't like it, but because my family always prefer Chinese foods, so that is why I always find it a treat to try out different restaurants.  And here we are savoring their lovely dishes.

Fish & Co. added new food items for their menu, and may I add they look very promising
First up, Appetizer - Shrimp Prawn Trellies (P 255), wrapped in Vermicelli, I could not get enough of this, dipped in special mango sauce with a pinch of spiciness, perfect start to great meal ahead
Breaded Chicken Piggyback (P385).... I was wondering why it was called that, alas I see that the prawns were made to look like piggy tails...aha how creative.  Chicken was very crisp outside and juicy inside - Perfect!  The prawns were very fresh and complemented the chicken well.
Grilled Lamb Chops (P 995), personally I don't eat lamb meat, but with the look of my friends face, I'm
pretty sure it was a delight to their palate
Shrimp and Chicken breast Al Pesto (P 395), the shrimps were so good so was the chicken breast, definitely healthy food for the health-conscious
Garlic Steak and Shrimp Combo (P1494), sided with mushrooms and rice,
good for the glutton in all of us
Grilled Mediterranean Tenderloin (P725) - Amazingly this tenderloin was cooked so well, I didn't even have to use a steak knife, I used my spoon and fork only.  That is how perfect it was.
Grilled Chicken Peri-Peri (P 440) a hefty serving good for 2, juicy chicken, tasty skin can't resist not eating that sorry.... anyways it was grilled so less guilt!!
Grilled Porkchop Basilico (P560) when I tasted this I almost forgot my name, I had eaten chunk after chunk, but still my taste buds keep telling me... more, more, more!!!
and to cap it all a desert for the Gods, hot fudge chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream (P 190) OMG!!!! this is so heavenly, get a chunk of chocolate cake then smother it with vanilla ice cream and ..... bliss!!!

Food prices : P 250 to P1500

Thanks to Fish & Co., Mr. Carlo and Ms. Jane for the invitation.

Yummy Yogurts at Yoggle

Eating healthy equals healthy living.

Living healthy is now a must in our society, with such we now have our vegetarians, diet-enhancing meals, our daily gym visits and of course healthy foods.  Going natural has been the trend nowadays with organic produce and other organic products taking a high demand in our society.  That is why Yogurt has now made it big with our friends and families.  It is delectable and healthy, perfect for the whole family.

Yoggle, pronounced as Yaggle ( o is in German), is now open to serve you luscious Yogurt with all the right flavors and all the best and freshest toppings.
My choices were Vanilla, Strawberry and Taro Yogurt
And after all the hard work... here is my masterpiece
well as you can see I'm really bad in decorating so here is why I got friends
who did it perfect
What I like about Yoggle is that they serve 8 flavors at the same time and they change some flavors within a 2-week period leaving the best sellers in tact, so you get to taste all the 32 flavors they have, but what's great is that there are more coming.....  All their ingredients are US made, so you can be sure of the quality and goodness of their yogurt.

Their flavors presently include Plain tart, Strawberry, Kiwi, Banana, Taro, Watermelon, Vanilla and Mocha Cappucino.

Just follow the instructions and lets your taste buds feel the excitement, and let your body feel nourished and healthy
Get your cup, fill it with any flavor you wish, sprinkle it with toppings of your choice and weigh it at P20 / ounce, then enjoy its goodness with friends.

Thanks to Richard Co for inviting us over and Mr. Andy Tan and company for accommodating us.
