We’re now in a Golden Age of Philippine Restaurants and Hotels that we’ve never experienced before.

In the first six months of this year alone, over 500 new restaurants opened … and that’s only all over Metro Manila! The construction boom in hotels and resorts all over the country is likewise accelerating at a rapid pace.

Every month, every week, and almost every day it seems, there's a new restaurant opening its doors. There are a lot of great new dining choices, side by side with the perennials, the classics that we grew up with.  As food bloggers, writers, and members of the F&B industry, we're always very curious about the crowd favorites. The popular vote, if you will.  What are the beloved favorites? Let the voice of the people be heard!

Here we go again!!!  The Choice 2016 is here!  After a very successful staging of The Choice 2015, this year promises to be more exciting and more delicious!  It seems that almost everyday a new restaurant opens in our midst to tempt our palettes and give you that satisfying uhm... so with that, it is our duty as "The KTG", the Kain Tulog Gang, to lead the way and let your choices be known.

So, with that in our sights, Our Awesome Planet and us the Blogger Collective known as the KTG (Kain Tulog Gang), and World Food Expo (WOFEX) have partnered to conduct the one and only People's Choice Awards for their Favorite Food, Restaurants, Bars, and more~ or simply, "The Choice".

Midnight Mercato is back with a Spanking New Location!

Weekends get more exciting with the return of Midnight Mercato in a spanking new location!

Find them at their new location: corner of 25th St. and 7th Avenue of the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

You won't miss it!  I promise!  Let the aroma of great tasting food specialties guide you to find happiness in Midnight Mercato!  The food feast starts 6PM up to the wee hours of 3AM in the morning.  Enjoy the many food stalls specially hand picked by our friends from the Mercato Centrale Group and of course Mr. Anton Diaz of Our Awesome Planet.

 A cool fun night of great food, with friends and family and loads of booze.  Glad you're back Midnight Mercato!  You have definitely been missed.

What's keeping the metro busy lately, no it's not the elections, it's not the politicians who fill up our newspaper headlines, what do the people always talk about?

"Where is it good to eat?"

We value our time, our earnings and put them into good use, but most of all we give in to our basic needs as a human being, the desire to eat!  Nowadays it's not just to fill in our tummies with food, but to fill our tummies with great tasting, mouth-watering treats to satisfy our cravings.  With that comes the diversity of our foodie community and every month, every week, and almost every day, it seems there's a new restaurant opening somewhere in Metro Manila.

Get to be a Food Critic for a day!  Get to sample up and coming food trends with flavors that are sure to keep you coming back for more!  Be the first among a few to taste the next big thing!  Hand picked by The Awesome Planet, these food connoisseurs will feature their best dish for you to taste, and you get to score them via a score card, and a winner will be determined by tallying all the votes.  Remember only 1,000 tickets will be sold.

I thought I was in for the Ultimate Hang Over Part III, but actually this is so much better!!! Food Coma at the maximum degree.  We were there when it happened from the first ever Rockwell Ultimate Taste Test, to the next Ultimate Taste Test Part II and now Our Awesome Planet and Rockwell Powerplant mall presents to us "Rockwell's 3rd Ultimate Taste Test"

Featuring more than 40++ of the best concessionaires, showcasing their best home-cooked specialties, and Power Plant mall restaurants will bring you to a gastronomical experience like no other.   What's more get a bottle of San Mig Super Dry, Premium All-Malt or Cerveza Negra with your ticket to the Rockwell's 3rd Ultimate Taste Test.  Enjoy a weekend of pure food bliss!

If you're lucky enough, you might still be able to purchase some very limited tickets to this food extravaganza!  Be there at the event proper entrance to purchase the tickets.  But there is no guarantee that there will still be tickets available since they run out very fast.  Hope to see you there!!!

Rockwell's Ultimate Taste Test

The day has finally arrived, Sept. 3, 2011.  The day when all foodies, food lovers, food aficionados and food enthusiasts all come into one place The Ultimate Taste Test at the Rockwell Tent.  Now on its 6th year of bringing in the best foods of the metro into one place to go through the stringent process of food tastes by the discerning and food fanatics alike, it promises to be an experience like no other.

Only once in a year, we are given the chance to be food critics of the best delicacies the metro has to offer.  Everyone at the food event, was given their own Passport and enclosed inside was rating sheet, to write down your view as well any feedback on how the food was presented to you?  May it be good or bad, it serves as a complement and inspiration of the food concessionaire to do better.

This year we have a total of 55 Food Finds, specially selected by the Ultimate Taste Test (UTT) review crew, to provide a food experience like no other.  Troops of foodies marched their way to Rockwell tent and there foods good enough for a thousand were prepared to satisfy the hungry, the salivating and for everyone else who needed a food rush!

As much as I would like to try all 55 of the great food finds, I was limited to as how much my tummy could really fathom from the mountains of food being served, even though they were just sample portions of the food, they can really fill you up.
