In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Krispy Kreme has released a new, limited-edition Original creation: the strawberry ring-filled Pink Ribbon doughnut and refreshing Pink Strawberry Float.
Now available until October 22, a portion of the sales will be donated to the ICANSERVE Foundation and other causes that promote breast cancer prevention and treatment, as well as empower women who are going through the battle. The home of the Originals has also partnered with Belle De Jour Power Planner in hosting Think Pink, a Facebook Live event aimed towards raising more awareness to the cause.
Every October, people all over the world show their support and solidarity for women affected by breast cancer. “We’re honored to partner with Krispy Kreme and do our part to help increase awareness and promote early detection and treatment of this disease,” said Jasmine Mendiola, Product Development Lead of Belle De Jour.
Breast cancer is currently the world’s most occurring form of the disease. In fact, 3 in every 100 Filipinas will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and the pandemic has put a significant decline in its treatment. With the goal of ‘Inspiring Original Women, One Happy Moment at a Time’, the Think Pink event last October 9 discussed the early signs of breast cancer to create awareness and provide avenues for support to anyone going through the battle. The speakers included Crissan Celdran – ICANSERVE Foundation Chairman, Madz Manlulu – Research & Development Lead of Krispy Kreme Philippines, and Pinay Triathlete Shiella Gagui.
“When you have cancer, it gives you a whole new set of eyes. You face life, you see death, and life becomes more precious. You don’t want to waste time and avoid toxic relationships. You really enjoy what really what matters most.” Crissan Celdran mentioned during the live event.
“I realized (breast cancer) that it’s not a death sentence, but it’s more of a detour. I became more appreciative of life–– I have learned to value what really matters the most: faith, family and health.” added by Madz Manlulu.
“Breast Cancer is not the end. Whatever that God has given us, He has a plan for it. You should move yourself away from toxic people and relationships as that would help you become a more positive person–– I also became closer to God.” advised by Shiella Gagui.
“Krispy Kreme aspires to bring joy in everything we do and we stand with our fellow Originals who have gone through or are going through this difficult period. With our newest Original pink treats, we aim to celebrate the strength of our Original warriors and survivors, and bring happiness and delight to all,” said by Ysabel Cruz, Marketing Manager of Krispy Kreme.
As early detection also saves lives, Originals who schedule a mammogram checkup this October will also receive a FREE pink doughnut as a special treat when they present their receipt from their hospital or clinic to select Krispy Kreme stores.
