Starting off with a mousse of scallops and celery crumble served with orange-scented tuile and basil oil, as simple as it may look, a sip of it sings out flavorful happy tunes, I was mesmerized by the scent with which I slowly scooped my way down, hoping it would not end, you know the feeling that you wanted more but just enough to prolong the exhilaration of every sip, that was how I exactly felt.
Our appetizer of poached and seared duck liver with arugula, smoked beet puree, parmesan tuile, and red onion marmalade, made the evening even better. A hefty serving of duck liver, dash it upon the beet puree is simply heaven, you just have to taste it to see.
Warm up with a comforting bowl of creamy broth of
mussels and leeks, with a healthy side of edamame and Akegai clam meuniere and
micro salad. I simply had no words on this except to ask if I can have another serving please... it is really that good.
I preferred the Slow Roasted U.S. CAB Prime Rib (200 gms) with mashed potato, ratatouille and Yorkshire pudding and Veal Jus, simply put that is one fine steak, soft, succulent and grilled to perfection.
Wifey had the Roasted Chilean Sea Bass with leek and oyster risotto, sauteed mushrooms and chive cream sauce
Ask about the Mignardises, pronounced as "Min-yar-dis", you would be pleasantly surprised, and maybe someone might just pop the question after.
For dessert it is a Mixed berries and Dark Chocolate concoction, Berry chibouste, quenelle of
citrus-scented dark chocolate ganache, a sponge and coulis duo of strawberry,
70% Guanaja Valrhona gelato, chocolate soil, and meringue. Now that's a mouthful and definitely a sweet ending to a lovely Valentine dinner.
It was a Valentine Affair to remember, a long time coming and a well deserved Valentine dinner for couples like you and me. It is all worth it!
