McDonald’s vaccinates 98% of crew and managers in NCR, set to hit 100% this October

Quick service restaurant giant McDonald’s Philippines has vaccinated 98% of its restaurant managers and crew in NCR with their first dose. With more than 14,000 store employees in the region, the company has fully vaccinated 68% and is on its way to hit its goal of 100% this October.

“Our top priority is to provide our people and customers a safe environment to work at and enjoy their McDo favorites. With the continuous spread of the more dangerous COVID-19 variant [Delta], we are committed to get all eligible employees nationwide fully vaccinated. We need to ensure they are better protected against the more severe effects of COVID-19, keeping their families and customers safe as well,” said McDonald’s Philippines President & CEO Kenneth S. Yang.

Quick service restaurant giant McDonald’s Philippines opened its Bike & Dine facilities in its CM Recto and Clark Gate stores in Pampanga, in its bid to provide more outdoor dining options for Filipinos to safely eat in.

Prior to the pandemic, McDonald’s has been investing in elevating the customer experience, by making dining more accessible, convenient, and inclusive for Filipinos; examples of which include Drive-Thru, McDelivery and outdoor dining. Having a strong foothold on these segments allowed the company to continuously serve its customers safely despite evolving quarantine restrictions set by LGUs.

McDonald’s and their customers surprise over 30,000 delivery riders through its McDeliverBack program

A year into the lockdowns, delivery services have become a way of life. We rely especially on delivery riders to make our everyday lives easier. 

It is in honoring and thanking these unsung heroes for their service that McDonald’s invited its customers to treat delivery riders to a FREE breakfast meal as a way to say thanks for braving the streets every day to keep Filipinos happily fed and safe indoors during the pandemic.

All-women teams run McDonald’s stores in the Philippines for International Women's Day

Female employees of McDonald’s Philippines’ took over all McDonald’s restaurants nationwide as they led store operations in celebration of International Women’s Day. The initiative aimed to demonstrate the strong representation of females in McDonald’s Philippines’ workforce. 

To date, women employees account for 55% of McDonald’s Philippines’ total workforce, exceeding global benchmarks for a gender-equal workforce. Across over its 670 the restaurants, an average of 56% of Restaurant General Managers and 62% of service crew are women.
