The country’s pioneering integrated resort, Newport World Resorts, is taking a bolder step in its property-wide I Love Earth (ILE) sustainability program with the launch of a technology-controlled onsite farm, through Marriott Hotel Manila, to grow high-value vegetables for use in its restaurants.
The collaborators tapped BoomGrow, a regional agriculture technology startup to develop the first ILE Urban Farm within the property as part of its sustainable culinary program. Through BoomGrow’s proprietary Indoor Precision Farming technology, the entire complex will have access to farm-fresh, clean and sustainable produce throughout the year.
The opening of the ILE Urban Farm makes Newport World Resorts the first destination resort outside of Malaysia to house BoomGrow’s Indoor Precision Farming Machine. Fresh produce will be grown and nurtured within a highly-controlled environment, using best-in-class hydroponic systems that are supported by artificial intelligence to ensure optimal conditions at all times.
For 2023, Newport World Resorts is hopping into the new year with epic celebrations brought by the World of Prosperity Lunar New Year festivities. Grand celebrations and lavish feasts are in store to usher in the Year of the Water Rabbit with an abundance of luck and good fortune for all this January.
Set time aside and call on the entire family to indulge in the Imperial Rabbit Feast at Newport World Resorts’ signature restaurant, Happy 8. The Chinese set menu and Yee Sang brings an auspicious start to the new year, featuring Wok Fried Lobster Tail in Chili Sauce with Crispy Mantou, Pan Fried Prime Rib Eye Beef in Red Wine Sauce with King Oyster Mushroom, and a Salmon Yee Sang with Plum Sauce. For Php 5,088 net per person, feast with the whole family and toss the Yee Sang for prosperity. As part of Thrilleven, Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) 11th anniversary celebration, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls brings the fifth leg of Harvest to Goodness to Newport City this weekend, September 18 to 20, 2020.
The weekend farmers’ market, a collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA), non-profit group Resto PH, and DA’s Kadiwa para sa Ani at Kita (KADIWA) project, is offering a wide range of fresh, locally grown produce and lots of other healthy essentials.
