Chinese New Year Feast at The Empress Dining Palace in BGC

A Chinese New Year Feast
at The Empress Dining Palace

Happy Chinese New Year!  We welcome the Year of the Metal Rat with so much vigor and hope, praying that the new year brings us all good fortune, good health and prosperity.  But more than that we celebrate quality time with family and friends.  And what better way to welcome the Chinese New Year than with a feast of good food, and that is what The Empress Dining Place has for us.

Preparing for a feast can be tedious and tiring, with so much time taken out while you would rather spend it with your loved ones, so why not make it easier for you and the family and just dine out with a fabulous set menu prepared for you by The Empress Dining Palace.

The Empress Dining Palace bids goodbye to the Year of the Pig, and welcomes the Year of the Metal Rat with specially curated Lunar New Year Set Menu featuring authentic Chinese dishes fit for Emperors and Empresses.

Starting off with The Empress Prosperity Toss Salad "Yu Sheng", a traditional Lunar New Year dish and ritual usually practiced by our fellow Chinese in Singapore and Malaysia.

It is a ritual wherein you toss the salad with your chopsticks, implying an abundance of good luck, prosperity and long life.  The higher the toss, the better!  Don't worry this is not just for play, but you get to enjoy the salad dish as well.

Next we have on this gastronomic journey is the Double Boiled Cabbage Soup with Bamboo Pith and Fresh Mushrooms.  The soup base is clear and very soothing, flavor rich and ultimately satisfying.

Next is the highlight of the meal, The Empress Treasure Pot or "Poon Choi", a communal dish overflowing with premium ingredients, from abalone, white chicken, roasted duck, fried prawns, taro and more.  The scent is very delightful as you enjoy the aroma of many flavors in one.

Pour on the stock and it turns into something else.  The once very appetizing dish is now a masterpiece of "Empress" proportions!  No really, the aroma is unlike any other I have had and it can be served to at least 6 persons, just order some plain rice, and you're set!  Now that's a feast!

The EMPRESS’ specialty menu also includes Crispy Pork Skin with Foie Gras and Mango, Steamed Live Garoupa, and Assorted Seasonal Vegetables (3 Varieties).

Diners can choose between the Fried Rice with Dried Scallops and Crab Meat, and Fried Rice with Dried Scallops and Egg White to complete the feast.

For dessert, cap off the festive meal with the Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Black Sesame in Fresh Coconut.

Beyond serving sumptuous and authentic Chinese delectables, The EMPRESS presents the perfect lauriat dining experience. It offers VIPS rooms that can hold up to 48 guests and a conference room up to 18 persons, all providing privacy and guaranteed attentive service.

The establishment is adorned with fine artwork and refined tableware handpicked from China, recreating the vision of having a feast like Chinese royalty.

The auspicious Chinese New Year menu is available from today until February 13, 2020.
